Seventh Day Rest

🎵 “Seventh Day Rest”
(Based on Exodus 20:8–10)

Verse 1:
Six days I labor, with heart and hand,
Following God's work across the land.
But now I pause, my soul takes flight,
The Sabbath dawns, so still, so bright.

Chorus:
On the seventh day, I lay it down,
No need to chase, no need to crown.
I lift my eyes to heaven's throne,
This sacred rest is not my own.
God blessed this day, made it holy and true,
A gift of peace for me and you.

Verse 2:
No fire to kindle, no burden to bear,
Just quiet moments in whispered prayer.
Creation rested, so I will too,
In worship deep, in spirit new.

Chorus:
On the seventh day, I lay it down,
No need to chase, no need to crown.
I lift my eyes to heaven's throne,
This sacred rest is not my own.
God blessed this day, made it holy and true,
A gift of peace for me and you.

Bridge:
It’s not just rules—it’s love's embrace,
To find my strength in quiet grace.
A rhythm written by God’s own hand,
To teach my heart to understand.

Final Chorus:
On the seventh day, I rise in rest,
With joy and calm, my soul is blessed.
God’s Sabbath light will lead me home,
I’m never lost, I’m not alone.
